The Oregon Mycoflora Project

The goal of the Oregon Mycoflora Project is to produce an accurate census of how many species of macrofungi (e.g., mushrooms, polypores, truffles, cup fungi, etc.) exist in the state of Oregon.

This project is a regional contributor to the North American Mycoflora Project. It is a statewide and Pacific Northwest effort to coordinate professional and amateur mycologists to document, describe, and disseminate knowledge about macrofungi.  It is coordinated through the Mycological Collection of the Oregon State University Herbarium, in cooperation with researchers from Oregon State University, University of Oregon, Lane Community College, Cascade Mycological Society, Oregon Mycological Society and the North American Truffle Society.

As this project develops, we will offer resources, protocols, and instructions on how you can contribute as a citizen scientist and help document the biodiversity of macrofungi from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
